The Eye of the Tornado? Is that where we are? Things are going so well, I just wonder if we will have to live through that "other side of the tornado". Tomorrow may be some of it, for we have a 1:15 appointment with our pediatrician, Dr. Rogers. On Zoe's first visit to the pediatrician, they drew lots of blood and gave her 5 immunizations. Yuck! She didn't make a peep! I think she was in shock. She did however have a nasty fit when they did a chest X-Ray and an echocardiogram (two procedures that DON"T hurt?) Anyway, we will need your prayers tomorrow. Amy is very familiar with doctors and immunizations. Mike is coming along so we can hold her down. Poor thing.
I have to tell you, this child loves her bath. She swims and floods the bathroom and then when I get her out she wants to be wrapped up and cuddled in a towel for a minute on my lap like a little baby. We put jammies on and she has a "cool down" time on the sofa with mommy and a bowl of fruit under the special blanket gramma made her.
Tuesday we went to Venture, Zoe's homeschool enrichment program. The kids were so happy to meet Amy and have Zoe back. Amy asked who all the people were. I said they were Zoe's friends. Tonight, we went to Wednesday night church. We met Zoe's GA friends. Amy said, "Zoe has many friends where are mine?". So I took her to see the 4,5,and 6 year olds I usually teach on Wednesday night. They said, "Hi, Amy". I said," these are your friends." ( It was cute, they really were her size.) Anyway, she looked so happy, but she did say that Zoe had lots of friends but she only had a few. I have a feeling that that is only temporary!
She is understanding more and more every day and English gets less frustrating. Today, she actually asked for me to turn the music on in the car. Usually, it frustrates her because she doesn't understand... same with English tv.
Okay, now I need to tell you how impressed we are with our Zoe. Tonight she put my groceries away and cleaned out the refrigerator. She has grown up so much in the last 2 weeks. We see no more of the baby behavior that she used to do to get attention. She is so awesome with Amy too! In the beginning she would let Amy have her way too much and Amy was abusing her. I told her she was the big sister and she would have to let Amy know that she must obey. Zoe does it well without abusing the power... just like her big sister, Hannah. We are so blessed!!!!
Please continue to pray for us, we have a long way to go but are so grateful for what God has done already!
